Lorna and Simon pre-wedding shoot…

As time draws closer to the wedding of the lovely Lorna and Simon in April, we decided to have a little meet up to get comfortable with each other for when the big day arrives. Apparently, Lorna and Simon aren’t that great when faced with a big camera in their faces (so I was told)…However, I totally disagree!! These guys are total naturals and we had so much fun together. They giggled from beginning to end, were totally involved and couldn’t keep their eyes off each other. If ever you’re wondering what form the perfect couple comes in, then look no further.

Audleys Wood Hotel is a beautiful mansion hidden deep within Basingstoke, Hampshire and provides the perfect setting for any shoot. This also happens to be the venue for Lorna and Simon’s upcoming nuptials. Set within stunning fields of sumptuous greenery, this gothic renaissance mansion is a photographers dream and I cannot wait for their big day.

Today of course, is valentines day, a day for true romance. So what better day to present the bride and groom to be with their little pre-wedding collection!

Enjoy xx

Upton Park Family Shoot

Last weekend, on the lovely bank holiday in May (I say lovely as it’s the first one I can remember of it actually being sunny for a change!) I paid a visit to Upton County Park in Dorset for a family shoot. The last time I saw Sarah and Sam was about 18 months ago when I did a newborn shoot for their lovely newborn, Baby Reuben. Wow, has he changed! He’s so big now, but still as gorgeous as ever…!

There’s nothing better than reconnecting with the families that gave me the chance to capture their littlens when I first started out, so shoots like this for me don’t even seem like work.

Thanks again to Sarah and Sam for letting us in to your lives and capturing your wonderful family. They are testament to you as parents! I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them! x

Baby Parker

Beau Resolution had such a perfect day recently spending time with this little beauty of a boy. From his fingers to his toes Parker is just perfect and we were so happy to be able to capture such little details for his parents.

He was sound asleep for the whole photoshoot, his parents were relaxed and obviously elated at the arrival of their lovely baby boy who decided to show up a little earlier than expected and the whole afternoon didn’t even feel like work! Who doesn’t like it when it’s like that?!

We set out below a few from the day to share with you, so get ready to go gooey over teeny Baby Parker…

Baby Piers…

Last week we had the pleasure of capturing beautiful baby Piers who was just 16 days old.

As always, we spent a good 20 minutes or so just looking at this adorable sleeping baby; ‘ooohing’ and ‘aaahing’ at how tiny and gorgeous he is and he didn’t even flinch whilst we were all moving and talking around him. Mum and dad were very welcoming and accommodating at how we set up our session in their home and they’d even unintentionally provided us with the most fabulous flooring which meant we didn’t have to use ours and and that their photo’s would have that extra special relevance to them.

Unfortunately, you never know how someone is going to be in front of the camera; especially someone so young and delicate. On this occasion Piers was comfortable at first, but after a while became a little fidgety and naturally as any baby would, hungry and in need of affection. The thing to remember when photographing newborns, is that, our number one priority is how comfortable they are and that they are well looked after, and this takes time which is never an issue…so after a little break and lots of hugs and kisses from his mumma, Piers settled in to the moment and provided us with lots of smiles and giggles and some beautiful timeless images which we hope mum and dad will be ecstatic with.

Thank you to Sophie and Luke who welcomed us in last weekend, it was a great session! We hope you like the photos xx

1st birthday cake smash for gorgeous baby Huxley!

This little post is about a beauty of a boy named Huxley, and although the cliché as people say is ‘Never work with children or animals…’ I completely disagree. Ok, so granted, the sweet delight of tucking into as much chocolate cake as he wanted was probably a helping factor in this session, but he was simply a pure joy to photograph.

On the 19th July we were absolutely thrilled to photograph Annika and Ben’s baby boy in honour of his first birthday; probably the most poignant date in a parents diary since the actual birth so the pressure was on! We needn’t have worried though as Huxley provided us with that many amusing and gorgeous expressions and positions to choose from that it hard for me not to want to have a cake smash for MY birthday…and I’m 31 this year!!  Even his Oscar winning diva strops to the floor were just magical, which is why we didn’t hesitate to include them in our final selection. As for his wonderful parents, they were enjoying every moment as much as he was. To see the bond between a set of parents and their baby is why we love this job so much. We are very lucky to be included in special once in a lifetime moments such as this and what a well behaved little munchkin this chappy was.

He started playing very delicately at first taking pieces of the cake bit by bit; the ears, then the nose and so on and so on and it was great to watch. He then got stuck in even more but not with his hands, no.. a spoon! When mum handed him a spoon he was elated and in some ways he then became the tidiest but messiest baby we’ve ever seen. Again, another fun moment to be captured.

Needless to say, after this experience, we can’t wait to get stuck in on another cake smash photoshoot, the session just goes by so quickly so it’s great to be able to have these images  to give to the parents to remind them of how much fun that day actually was.. Big thanks to Annika, Ben and Huxley for this wonderful experience.. We hope we did you proud xx

Sophie & Mike….

Let’s go back in time to the 14th June 2013.. Sophie and Mike’s wedding day…an extra special day in itself due to the fact that the bride was also a mum-to-be.

The ceremony itself took place at the stunning St.James’ church on Poole Quay on a beautiful sunny day, which was a blessing, as the rest of the week hadn’t been the best in that sense… Sophie and Mike had decided that only family and their closest of close friends were to be included in the church ceremony, so a beautiful intimate wedding it was, and it didn’t disappoint. The bride looked stunning and the groom (although somewhat a little nervy looking) was as dapper as ever.

After the vows were taken and the tears were wiped away, onto the Sandbanks hotel we moved where the guests were treated to a ‘Sophie & Mike’ Cocktail and drinks on the decking overlooking the beach before a sumptuous sit down dinner.

3 courses, a few speeches and a play of the guitar later came our time on the beach with the happy couple… it was so easy for us to photograph Sophie and Mike..They were lost in each other, didn’t need a word of instruction and their happiness just leapt out of my Canon 7d as I looked over what we captured… A gorgeous day all round!

Fast forward to the present day, it’s hard to believe that they’ve now been married for just over 7 months and have a beautiful baby boy, Theo…This gorgeous bride and now mother has even started her own baby blog…

Although this post is somewhat a lot later than I’d usually post I still love these images and hope the rest of you do too… so, apologies for the delay, but Beau Resolution is back and excited to show you these….

Little Mr. Raef…

September 13th… Friday 13th to be precise… and unlucky for some so they say…

Not for us however. In fact we were lucky enough to be able to go and photograph gorgeous Raef, who was a teeny tiny 2 weeks old.

The cuteness and calm demeanour of this little bundle of joy is just too difficult to describe. Mum was a picture of health and dad was beaming from ear to ear.

But what makes this photography session so special is that a little over 18 months ago we were shooting the wedding of Raef’s mum and dad (click here to see their amazing wedding day)… and yet again, they didn’t disappoint.

Born at the end of August, little Mr Raef came into the world at the very early hours of a Saturday morning and by all accounts with great ease.  He hardly made a peep throughout the few hours that we were with him and was the perfect model.

Each photo shoot we take a different variety of backdrops and photo props to work with but what’s even better is when mum has already come prepared or give us free reign of the house to see if we can use anything in the photo’s. From toy cars to wooden letters, we had a plethora of options with Raef, but what simply couldn’t be resisted on this occasion was the Southsea fruit bowl…. take a look below and you’ll see why…

Thanks to Marsha and Chris for letting us into their lives yet again for another incredibly special occasion… Your continued support to Beau Resolution doesn’t go unnoticed and we just want to say thank you… x

Lauren and Andy – Langtry Manor, Bournemouth

Looking back to that beautiful sunny day on August 10th brings nothing but a smile to our faces. Even though it’s a little over two months ago and the day itself went by in the blink of an eye, we can still remember the gasps from the guests as our stunning bride made her entrance and walked up the aisle.

Dressed in Sincerity, by Justin Alexander, Lauren oozed elegance and charm…

Our groom, who was clearly speechless, led the guests in a round of applause as the bride was given away by her father.

With the crisp red carpet leading the way to the whiter than white and beautifully decorated wedding gazebo, set on a backdrop of Edwardian elegance and stunning stained glass windows, it was so easy to see why Lauren and Andy chose Langtry Manor, the home of Lillie Langtry, as their venue.

On the day they wed, Lauren and Andy had been together nearly 5 years to the day and their friends, making up the bridesmaids and best men, had evidently been with them all the way. Even a couple of the bridesmaids and best men were shortly to be united in marriage. Everywhere you looked, love was clearly in the air… the laughter was too… especially when we were informed of their joint stag and hen do, so aptly named, ‘The Sten’ in Woolacombe…

The rest of the day flowed with joy and laughter, many a good speech from the usual suspects but also from the bride, which we thought added a lovely element to the day. The tables were dressed in a divine purple shade and decorated with simplistic candles, but the most touching gesture saw every guest gifted with an Alzheimer’s badge from the Alzheimer’s society, a charity so close to the bride and grooms heart.

After a whistle stop visit to the beach and some one on one time with Lauren and Andy for pictures, we pitched back up at the venue ready for the evening fun. This included a jive lesson, organised by the bride and groom, and a surprise song from the bride’s mother. Before the guests partied away to the usual wedding favourites, they feasted on a summer bbq whilst the sun slowly set.

All in all the day was fantastic… Lauren and Andy are truly loved and respected as a couple and love really was all around that day. Looking back at our photo’s reminds us of how love really should be…

Lauren and Andy, many many congratulations and may you have a very long and happy life together.
